The hint of what is but without the forcefulness of a definite can be beautiful. You can put more of your own imagination into it because there is only a flirt at a suggestion of what could be.
It was an incredibly hazy day with only pockets of light sneaking through the clouds during little breaks. As I wandered through Old Town with idea that I would never find anything that would please me when I saw the shadow of this bike parked up against the wall. Too me the shadows looked liked they had been permanently imprinted onto the wall, a reminder of life and its odd peculiarities. I waited for only a moment before the scene above unfolded, the differences between the shadow sizes, the form of the shapes and the leading line striking straight through the scene all made for a fairly perfect photo… for me anyway.
I think that the haziness of the day comes through a lot stronger in the original image.
In post production I heightening the contrast to really deepen the blacks and lighten the whites. I do like a high contrast image. After that I cropped the image just a little tighter, to give the image just a little more impact, and once that was done the photo was done.
