Janus of My Work

Compose#1An image of two halves, a beginning and a transition. A step beyond myself…

I have ranted talked many times before about the rules I make for myself within photography. Rules which have no grounds or reasoning, they just simply seem to exist, like they have always existed…if that makes sense? So when I actually break through them or break them down it always feels like I have achieved something, a sense of freedom maybe? Whatever the feeling, it feels good! This image is part of that freeing feeling.

A marriage of two images, welded together, to portray the streets I walk amongst most everyday.

More to come…

All thoughts and comments are welcome.

Happy Viewing

  1. Interesting. Breaking free of those preconceived ideas of what should be done and what shouldn’t is something we all should aim for, I feel.

This one would work better for me if the contrast in the two parts matched more. The left part is more contrasty than the right, and while the disjointed feeling of the different angles of the windows kinda works (and I love the way the lines meet at the bottom where the two parts connect), the contrast difference makes it seem a little TOO disconnected.

Apart from that, I think it’s great!

    1. Thank you. More work is definitely required and good, constructive feedback is always appreciated:) I am still unsure of where the idea is going but if I can make the images marry together better the illusion should be much stronger. Thanks:)
